Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to AL-ISHLAH: Jurnal Pendidikan undergo a rigorous editorial and peer-review process to ensure their academic quality, originality, relevance, and integrity.

Initial Editorial Screening

Each manuscript is initially evaluated by the editorial team to determine whether it:

  • fits the journal's aims and scope;
  • demonstrates adequate academic contribution and originality;
  • meets basic methodological standards;
  • complies with the journal's ethical and formatting requirements;
  • is written in clear and appropriate academic language.

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external peer review.

Similarity Screening

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening may be checked using plagiarism-detection or similarity-checking software.

Similarity reports are used as editorial assessment tools and are not treated as the sole basis for determining plagiarism or publication misconduct.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are reviewed using a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.

Each manuscript is normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area.

Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers may recommend one of the following:

  • Accept;
  • Minor Revision;
  • Major Revision;
  • Reject.

Authors receiving a revision decision are expected to submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments.

Final Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor based on:

  • reviewers' evaluations;
  • authors' revisions;
  • academic quality;
  • originality;
  • methodological rigor;
  • relevance to the journal;
  • compliance with publication ethics.

The editorial decision is independent of the authors' institutional affiliation, nationality, gender, ethnicity, political views, or other personal characteristics.
